“Best Buddies Blend”…Not Just for Coffee Lovers!
For young professional Steve Hawthorne, joining the Best Buddies family as an Associate Board member was a no brainer.
“I think that everyone should get involved because the friendships and relationships are so powerful. Friendship is the greatest gift you can give to anyone,” the Vice President of Operations at Stone Creek Coffee Roasters said.
Recently Hawthorne and Stone Creek Coffee have teamed up with Best Buddies in a new fundraiser to spread their love of coffee and friendship.
“People love coffee and if I can use that love of coffee to get the Best Buddies message out there, that to me would be a success,” added Hawthorne.
Best Buddies Wisconsin teams up with Stone Creek Coffee to help support students attending the Best Buddies Leadership Conference in Indiana. The Milwaukee based coffee roaster has even created a special “Best Buddies Blend.”
The blend will feature the best Buddies Logo on its own custom labels. For every one pound of the socially responsible coffee sold, five dollars will be given back to help support the Wisconsin students attending Leadership Conference.
Hawthorne shared that in the past, selling the locally roasted coffee has proven itself to be a successful opportunity for other groups. At Stone Creek, it is important to give back to the local communities where they do business.
“For any business, the community is what allows you to thrive and to not support your community is irresponsible,” Hawthorne added. Along with other young professionals in the area, Hawthorne is enjoying his experience as an Associate Board member.
“We’re trying to spread the word about Best Buddies through our networks and raise funds for the group at the same time,” Hawthorne stated.
In the spirit of coffee and friendship, a new “Buddy Pair” is born. |
